Being from Ireland I decided it was about time to start featuring European freelance writing jobs here on The Hidden Writer. A great advantage of this, is that being Irish, UK English grammar is what I do best and I don’t have to be continuously checking to ensure that I have spelt things correctly or that I am using the correct phrase or term, which is something that I have to do on a regular basis when writing in US English.
So I have spent the last couple of hours getting together this list of European freelance writing jobs to share with everyone. I intend to make it a regular feature so be sure to check back often.
Calls For Submission (Dublin/National)
Lyrical Ballads, a small monthly literary magazine, is currently accepting submissions. We are looking for either poetry or short fiction (3,000 words or less). It should be emotional, meaning that its primary aim should be to make the reader feel something – anything at all. The extent to which this generation of deep emotion is accomplished will ultimately inform our decision to accept.
Poetry, if not rhyming, should have some standardized form. We are deliberately not seeking free-verse, except in very rare cases.
$200 Per Article
We are launching our online magazine in about 6 weeks and we are looking for about 30 to 40, both freelance and long-term writers. The targeted demographics is between 19 to 35. You will have to write a (400 to 800 words) article bi-weekly. Pay starts at $200 per article and will increase if it goes well. Everyone is welcome to apply.
