Where To Promote Your Writing & Get Paid

by Amanda on November 17, 2008

There comes a time when most ghostwriters will get tired.  You write, you write, and you write, but you don’t get any recognition for your work.  You see the e-book you just completed making number 1 on clickbank…you know it has earned your client a serious amount of money….you feel frustrated.  This is quite common and you’re not alone on this one.  That’s the joys of being a ghostwriter, you get paid, that’s it and in today’s economy the pay just isn’t what it used to be.  You need to have private clients and high paying clients and the only way to achieve this is to promote yourself and your work.

There are some excellent websites that can help you to do this and new ones are cropping up all the time.  Below I have listed some of the websites that I use or intend signing up for.

Helium is a great website, not only because you can promote your work, but you also get paid. With Helium you have to rate articles too, but this can be a lot of fun and very informative. Helium uses rating stars and the more you have the more you can earn. You have writing stars and rating stars and in order to start earning income from your articles you need to get one rating star. To get a your first rating star you need to rate between 40 and 99 articles in a 90 day period. Writing stars are a little different, to get your first star you need to have between 4 and 29 articles and they must be rated in the top quarter. Sounds difficult but it’s not.

Helium also have a marketplace where you can submit articles for certain publishers. The pay for these articles can be anything from $10 to $200 plus. To be eligible for the marketplace you need one writing star or a writing rating of 67% or more.

On Helium you get your own personal page where you have your biography and of course a link to your website. I have received a number of new clients from Helium and it’s great to see your own name in print too.

What more can I say, take a look at Helium and see for yourself.

The next website I want to tell you about is one I just found today through an Adwords campaign. The website is called Gzyn and here’s what they have to say.

Passionate about Online Writing and related topics! Why not write about it?
Write articles on Online Writing and get paid 90% of the revenue generated by them through Google’s AdSense

There are a wide variety of categories that you can write for including online writing.  I can’t say much more about this website as I haven’t had any experience with it yet, but I will keep you posted.

Next is Articles Gratuits.  Again I only came across this website this morning but it looks very promising.  This website is similar to article directories but you can also sell your articles.  You earn adsense revenue also.  What I like about this website is that fact that my articles can be placed all over the internet gaining me plenty of exposure and hopefully new clients too.  Here’s what the website says:

Benefits of submitting your Articles to ArticlesGratuits.com

Specialists in Internet Marketing are aware that articles are beneficial to your internet marketing strategy. Research shows that articles are one of the best ways to get publicity. It’s more effective than regular advertising.

Some more benefits include free publicity for your business, free publicity about your expertise, free expert recognition, gain new clients and more business, boost traffic to your website, and make money by sellin your article using our buy the article option.

Get Recognized as an impassionated writer and receive 50% from Adsense with your articles

It sounds good, but again I can’t really comment too much until I’ve tried it. I guess it’s time to start writing up some articles and see exactly what these websites are like.

I will keep everyone posted and will add to this list as I go along.

Until next time,

Amanda

Anne,

Many thanks for your comment. I’m sure you have your reasons for not wanting to write for these websites. If you would like to share your experience I would love to hear it.
