Ghostwriting Articles – Additional Ways To Compile Your Research

by Amanda on December 18, 2008

Information overload can be quite a common complaint for anyone searching the internet. More often than not, when people search for information they get hit with the same content over and over again. It may come in the form of different headlines but when the page is accessed it is the same information.

When clients email their list or put up new content on their site, and assuming they want to generate loyalty, it’s necessary that they have content others haven’t seen a dozen times elsewhere.

This is where your unique method of research can come into play. Listed below are some ideas that you can use that will easily generate fresh content with the minimal amount of time and effort.

First of all, think about a subject you are about to research. Let’s say it’s fashion. Now if you’re not aware of it, let me put you in the picture. Most people do web searches from Google‘s home page and stop there. This is not at all creative and not the way to get the most original content either. You need to digg further to develop original content for your clients.

So let’s go exploring…

1 – Google has lots of tools besides just web searches. They let you check the news. (http://news.google.com) and you could easily do a summary of some of these articles and create your own content. But let’s not stop there.

2 – Google also has “groups.” (http://groups.google.com/) These are folks who like to discuss *your clients* subject. So now you can go even farther. Look up fashion in their groups. The information you will find here is what I consider to be pure gold. Why? Because you can see what it is about fashion that lots of folks are interested in.

Check out Google’s other tools, too. You can even get research info from universities through Google. Start here: http://www.google.com/intl/en/options/

3 – Next method: Do this search (keeping in the punctuation as written):

+fashion +free +filetype:pdf

What you will get here are free downloads in pdf format about your clients subject.

Now obviously you can’t simply copy and use it as your own information. You have to create your writing in your own words and these pdf files are a great place to start, plus they will contain more information than what you find on an average webpage.

4 – Go to Alexa.com. Do a search on your clients subject, in this example, fashion. It provides the exact same results as Google because it’s powered by Google but Alexa *does* provide value added information.

When you do the search, you won’t be looking to click on the link that takes you to any of the sites listed. Instead what you will be looking for is the link that says “Site Info”. When you click on this you will find a section called “People who visit this page also visit.” This information is extremely useful because it will show you what your clients marketplace is interested in and you can therefore tailor your clients information product to what people want.

These are just some of the easy ways that you can get better research and in very little time.

Until next time,

Keep writing.
