If you have ever thought about writing for magazines instead of just website content then below is a list of some magazines and what they pay. Yes it’s a lot more than your standard 500 word web article and there is more work involved too. For most of this type of freelance writing work you need to get to grips with the query letter. The reason I opted for ghostwriting instead was that dreaded query letter. Now though after many years of experience it is an area that I am beginning to look at again. Do you write for magazines? lengths on Chicago topics. More than 50% freelance. Pays $25 (the
shortest items) to $1,000 (the longest cover features). Short
features usually run $150-$300, and reviews pay set rates of $150
