How To Find More Ghostwriting Jobs

by Amanda on February 3, 2009

Today I have something special to share with you.  I am constantly getting emails from people who like me are fed up with the state of bidding websites.  I’m sure you are familiar with the scenario that seems to be invading the bididng websites – 500 words articles for $1.  It’s totally ridiculous and I personally feel like setting up a campaign against this.  I mean come on, even beginners should get no less than $2 per 100 words, that’s $10 for a 500 word article.  I reckon that if all us ghostwriters and freelancer writers including those just starting out joined together and refused to accept anything less than $2 per 100 words, then these buyers would soon realise that you have to pay to have content written.  That’s just my opinion but what do you think?

The Ultimate Freelancer Reviewed

by Amanda on January 29, 2009

About two weeks ago I bought The Ultimate Freelaner which is a new e-book written by Mason Hipp and James Chartrand. The book costs $29 and is available from Freelance Folder.

I just finished reading this e-book and wanted to give my readers my personal opinion.

First Impressions

My first impressions were really good.  I really enjoyed reading the first section of this book because it really did tell it like it is.  It explained exactly what it is like being a freelancer and how you tend to do everything yourself.  I loved the completed honesty of the writing and was fully convinced that I was really going to enjoy this book.

by Amanda on January 23, 2009

Welcome to another Friday of love here at The Hidden Writer.  It’s been another crazy busy week for me, i just don’t know what’s happening.  Clients are literally crawling out of the wood work and new clients are continuing to pour in.  I am putting it down to the new website design and of course the fact that my rates are now clearly visible. (I will discuss my decision on this in another post).

In between writing, editing, and researching this week, I have still managed to pull up some excellent posts to list for you here today.  First though, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who comments on these blog posts.  They are written for you and when you comment it let me know that you appreciate what I am dong here.  Without further ado, here’s today’s list of posts. What’s The Worst Mistake New Freelancers Make?

by Amanda on January 20, 2009

If you’ve been freelancing for a while you probably already know the answer to this question:

What’s The Worst Mistake New freelancers Make?

If you’re new to freelancing or thinking about getting started then keep reading because you will want to know the answer to this.  Believe me, it could save you a lot of hardship and sleepless nights.

Most freelancers start off using bidding websites such as Elance, Get A Freelancer, or Guru to name but a few.  When you log into these websites and find a job you want to bid on your have to include your price and the amount of time that it will take for you to complete the job.

I have underlined the last part of that paragraph on purpose because this is where you can make big mistakes. I’ve made them, as I’m sure many others have and it is because of this that I can share this knowledge with you.

Friday Link Love At The Hidden Writer

by Amanda on January 16, 2009

It’s Friday again and what a week it’s been.  My week has been hectic what with coaching and new client projects.  I’ve had deadlines coming out my ears but I know my bank will be thanking me at the end of the month.  That said, I am a bit behind in my reading so I don’t have as much link love to share with you this week, so if you have something you would like to share, maybe a blog post you wrote, or a writing post that you read, be sure to let me know.

The first post I want to share today is from Writing Inspiration and it’s titled Inspirational Affirmations To Uplift You.  I am a big believer in the law of attraction and this post has some great affirmations that you can use on a daily basis.  It’s worth reading even if you don’t follow the law of attraction.

The 2009 List Of Ghostwriting Jobs Websites

by Amanda on January 13, 2009

If you are one of the many people deciding to make the transitition into ghostwriting in 2009 then you are going to want to know where to start.  Now I could plug my ghostwriting Uncovered manual here but I’m not going to.  If you want to buy it you can :-)

Today I want to list all the websites I know where you can bid on ghostwriting jobs.  I probably won’t be able to list them all so if I miss any that you recommend be sure to place them in the comments.  I would like to be able to compile a very comprehensive listing here on The Hidden Writer so that anyone looking for ghostwriting jobs will know where to start.  I would also like it if people would post their opinions and experiences with these websites in the comments section because that way we can help prevent time wasting.

Google Knows If You’ve Been Bad or Good

by Amanda on December 10, 2008

Credibility is vital if your writing business is going to succeed and whether you’ve been bad or good this year is something that Google really does know.

According to reports around the internet in the last few hours, Google knows the worst band in the world but what about the worst ghostwriting website or freelance writing website?  Do you show up on the front page?  Well lets take a look.

There was a lot of writing about Creed showing up when the worst band in the world was typed into google, and if you don’t believe me you can read a couple of the posts that I’ve linked to below:

Inquisitr.com wrote about it

Digg has over 355 mentions of it
